Guess what guys, my fair little August Louise has a rather severe case Polymorphus Light Eruption. Basically it's a random-onset allergy to the sun. It's so sad, her skin is all puffy and bumpy everywhere a t-shirt and shorts haven't been covering, so now she has to wear winter clothes in the blazing sun. Today she ran into the house swatting her arms and yelling "Get off me sun!"
I'm hoping HOPING it goes away, but it's just as possible that she deals with it for the rest of her life. Which means not being in the sun for more than an hour or two and avoiding being out between 11-3 p.m., etc. It's so weird because she's never even had the slightest skin issue before this. And also we've spent a fair amount of time in the sun from May-June, so it's not that her skin is unused to sunlight, like many of the cases that occur in the spring. So random. Anyway, it's not life threatening. But if you think of it, you might say a little prayer that it heals up and isn't a condition that plagues her for the rest of her life. xo~Kels

It's so scary when kids have reactions to things we have/had no clue about. Experience tells me, most kids grow out of allergies and things like this.
In the meantime, poor little Augie.
